December 18, 2025 | 6:00–8:00 PM　(Order Limit) Jon Bocksel いについて: NYを拠点に活躍するサインペインターで現代アーティストのジョン・ボクセル。 長年サインペインティンターとしてNY中のレストランの看板やミュージアムのサイン などを多数手がけてきました。サーファーでありながら、サインペインターとして 活動する中で、自身のブラシストロークの動きやサーファーとして波に乗る際の体の動きに着目し、近年では言語化できない自身の動きをアートとしてペインティングやスカルプチャーとして発表しています。 ジョンは次のように語っています。 「サーフィンは究極のカリグラフィーといえます。常に未知のタブレットを前にし、その瞬間ごとに適応していかなければならない。身体をペンとして、一瞬で消え去る線を描いていくのです。」 About Jon: Jon Bocksel is a New York–based sign painter and contemporary artist. Over many years, he has created numerous restaurant signs and museum signage throughout New York City as a professional sign painter.　While also being a surfer, his work as a sign painter led him to focus on the movement of his own brushstrokes and the physical motion of riding waves.　In recent years, he has been expressing these indescribable personal movements through art, presenting them in the form of paintings and sculptures. Jon mentions- “Surfing is the ultimate form of calligraphy, constantly being presented an unknown tablet one has to adapt to in the moment, body as pen to create lines that are evanescent”
