Yui Horiuchiは、東京を拠点に活動するアーティストです。2011年に多摩美術大学の油絵専攻を卒業したのち、現在に至るまで多様な作家活動を展開。インクと透明水彩を用いた絵画、イラストの他、刺繍を使った作品も手がけている。彼女自身の死生観が静かに織り込まれたシリーズ、FROM BEHINDは彼女の心の中に浮かび上がる風景を描き出しています。匿名の女性、場所を用いて制作を続ける中、近年は、映画のワンシーンをポートレートの背景として取り込んだ新シリーズにも挑戦している。現在までにSONYやUNITED ARROWSをはじめとするクライアントへの作品提供も積極的に行っています。

YUI HORIUCHI is a Tokyo based artist whose works cover a wide range of mediums from painting, illustration to embroidery. Since acquiring her B.F.A degree in Oil Painting from Tama Art University, Tokyo in 2011, she has been developing her multiple art practices. FROM BEHIND, the body of works into which Yui’s view on life and death is quietly woven, depicts her mental pictures. While she has portrayed unknown lady and place for her works, more recently she also works on a new series in which she uses replicated scenes from films as the backdrop of portrait images. Her work, regardless of its form, tends to be inspired by the incomparable beauty and rich colours found in nature. She has worked for various clients including SONY music Japan and United Arrows in Tokyo.
